Chief Engineer

The Chief Engineer will be responsible for shipyard retrofit of existing Offshore Supply Vessels including support vessels and barges and to oversee the operation of the vessel. This includes budgeting, organizing, implementing, and scheduling of the ship construction and maintenance, as well as administrating operational and maintenance paperwork and cost controls.  

The Master must have a thorough knowledge of all the Marine Operations onboard OSV's.  The Master ensures all crew members understand their role in the emergency response procedure and Station Bill, Maintain appropriate logs and record certifications. The Master is the Safety Leader ensuring the ongoing identification of hazards and the implementation of controls to manage the associated risks. Responsible for management of all navigational watch keeping duties, pipeline deployment and recovery, radio communications, and boat operations. 

The Chief Mate, Sr. DPO position is responsible to the Captain for the safety and security of the ship and is the officer in charge of watch of the vessel and vessel operations. The Chief Mate ensures safe navigation and protection of environment and acts as officer in charge of crew supervision and vessel maintenance. The Chief Mate oversees cargo loading, ballasting and maintaining the vessel stability and trim when on watch. The Chief Mate acts as a company representative for onboard communication with client and third parties. Chief Mate is responsible for the crew's welfare and training in areas such as safety, firefighting, search and rescue.

The First Assistant Engineer coordinates and participates in operating, maintaining and repairing propulsion engines, boilers, deck machinery, electrical systems, refrigeration, and sanitary equipment. Routinely inspects engines and other vessel equipment for service requirements. Participates with and assists crew with repair or replacement of defective parts and equipment. Operates, supervises or assists in operating various vessel equipment, maintains engineering logs, repairs machinery, and performs deckhand duties as required.
